You know that feeling when you look at something in your past with a bit of regret but then come to realize that everything happens for a reason?
That’s exactly the feeling I had when I quit working from home as a full-time employee as a full charge bookkeeper with a company that offered benefits. And I was making pretty darn decent money too. But now I realize that position was a stepping stone along my path of life and I wouldn’t be where I am right now had I not left there.
The biggest reason I left there when I did is because my husband had become pretty busy in his insurance agency and I was doing all of his marketing, all of his office work as well as all of his bookkeeping. I simply didn’t have enough hours in the day to help him and work full-time for a company.
I guess where I’m going with this story is this company I’m telling you about, is one that is a serious, legitimate, honest and true work from home company that hires you as an employee and expects you to work a full eight-hour day and get your work done. If you haven’t read my post What No One Tells You About Working From Home, you might wanna hop on over there and check that out because working for this company is a real job (with benefits and pretty decent pay in case you haven’t caught that part yet).
Don’t get me wrong, it’s work from home and it’s totally cool because you get to wear slippers (company perk that you will learn about if you work for them but I’m not going to say anymore because that will ruin the surprise) and yoga pants but it’s real and honest work so don’t expect to be taking naps during the day or laying out in the sun during the summer or whatever else you might chose to do. You will be working – just from home in your yoga pants and slippers.
So here are the details…
The company is AccountingDepartment.com. That’s the URL to their website as well as the name of the company because the entire company is virtual. Click here to go to their Careers page and see what they have to offer. They are almost always looking for experienced Full Charge Bookkeepers and CPAs.
To get hired you will have to pass a timed, skills assessment exam as well as interview with them. Their pay is very competitive (I don’t think you’ll be disappointed) with regular opportunities for pay increases as well as opportunities for advancement once you get hired.
Even though this is a virtual company, they work very hard to form a cohesive team and have regular meetings (video and phone) to make everyone feel welcome and part of the company.
